Women's Literacy Class
Tumu, Ghana

Penny Bakewell, SIM Missionary, is a Physical Therapist by occupation, but has been devoting some of her time in the Tumu
area to Women's Ministries and literacy. She vowed she would never teach health or literacy without teaching the Bible, so before each
class she holds a Bible Study. Even though there are only 4 literacy students in this particular village, around 40 women
gather for Bible Study on these mornings!

They started their time with singing, and this woman loved to show off for the camera!
Penny has been working very closely with Esther, equipping her with the skills
to help teach and disciple the women in the church. Esther now tells the Bible Stories
for Penny during the study.
EEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

One of the women learning how to read and write. On this particular exercise, the women have five
different words laid out before them. Penny will tell them which word she wants, and they have to be able to
read it and find it.
