A day with Dr. Don
Dr. Don Townsend is an Oncologist working at Galmi Hospital, in Galmi, Niger.
He and his wife Jenny have served in Galmi for twenty-some years and are now
going home. They have raised seven children on the mission field!
Dr. Don allowed me to follow him for a morning while doing rounds.

Galmi Hospital and SIM receive a lot of medical students coming in to
work with doctors. Here he is explaining an ex-ray to a new medical student.
He did an excellent job of explaining everything as we went through the rounds
that morning. What I thought was funny was that he would always turn to me and
ask if I had any questions. I would just smile and say no because I don't think I would understand the answer if I did have a question!
After rounds are finished, Dr. Don settles into the Out Patient department to
see the hundreds of people waiting outside.
