Our Trip to Lake Volta
On my last cultural trip while in Language School, we visited Lake Volta, which is the largest man made lake in the world. It was a VERY wild
and bumpy ride to the lake, to find that our adventure had just begun!

First you arrive at this ferry, which will take you across the Lake to the other villages. It takes many truck filled with yams, which is the major crop of the village from across the lake, so the last trip that they make each day holds around 12 trucks piled high with yams.
Teacher Yaw and I while riding on the ferry. It took about 30 minutes to cross the lake.
This is another view of the ferry.
And trucks driving off...
Many personally owned boats lined the shore of that town. Many people come for the market there.
Ok, so Sherri and I were impressed with the size of this fish, but the Ghanaians just thought we were weird!
