Tamale...Hot Tamale?

I went to Tamale, which is in the Northern part of Ghana, to cover the various ministries happening there. My first
assignment was to cover the Evangel Fellowship Committee Meeting. This meeting is with the heads of SIM
along with the heads of the churches that SIM works with throughout the world. There were about 50 people there, from
all over the world, learning about how to effectively minister to the M. in the area they are from.

We went to the palace to greet the Chief of Tamale. Here he is, listening to his spokesperson.
Each chief has a spokesperson, so no one is allowed to talk directly to the Chief- everything must go through his spokesperson and vice
versa. (Even if that means hearing the same thing twice, it must come from the spokesperson.)

The group presented him with a gift- a new staff and a traditional dress.

One of the chief's advisors.

One evening they invited some traditional dancers to come and give us a good Ghanian show!

On the very last dance, I was sitting in my seat when one of the dancers came up to me... I knew he was going to try
and pull me out there, but I figured if I can't speak his language the I could get out of it! Well, unfortunately he walked
right up to me and said very clearly, "Put your camera down! You've taken enough pictures- you need to dance!"
I just shook my head no, but he repeated it all again. Knowing I wasn't going to get out of this one, I handed the camera
over and gave it a shot! I think I did rather well if I may say so myself! Fortunately no one knew how to work
my camera, so no pictures, sorry! :)
